Certainly, there are factors to consider when it comes to purchasing an outdoor signage.

Question:  Are there any special considerations when designing an Outdoor Display?

Absolutely yes. This is a pretty broad question in the way it’s stated, but let me give you some pointers on a couple different displays that would be used out-of-doors.

Why Fabric Banners Look Better on Banner Stands than Vinyl

Pull Up Banners

Using fabric instead of vinyl on banner stands. And, how to remove wrinkles from cloth banners.

Question: Why are fabric graphics, rather than vinyl graphics, used for most premium banner stands?

Generally speaking, fabric is lighter and lays better than vinyl, or PVC banners. Hence, it rolls better inside a pop up banner stand or roll up banner stand and it doesn’t tend to get permanent wrinkles like vinyl will.

Fabric is the Best Option

There are other materials available for roll up banners as well that are decent quality such as polyethylene and plasticized papers,

All banners that can be used in a stand can also be used as a wall banner, although you may want a larger banner if it’s on a wall. The main types of material that can be used in a banner stand are dye sublimate printed cloth banners and DSG-type banners.

Wind Slits on Banners, plus Dye Sublimation vs. DSG

Vinyl Mesh Banner

Do outdoor banners need wind slits? Sublimated versus DSG displays. And, is it normal for a banner to have a glare look?

Question:  Do outdoor graphics require wind slits?

This is a favorite topic of mine as there are so many misconceptions about wind slits or wind pockets being cut into banners.

Reduction of Wind Load

Wind pockets allow about 4-5% wind load reduction on vinyl banners, which, in our opinion, is negligible and makes the banners weaker and uglier. Quite frankly, I think wind slits in outdoor vinyl banners are just ugly.

Durability and Cleaning Dye Sublimation Outdoor Fabric Banners

Outdoor Banners with stands

In this article, you will know about outdoor dye sublimated fabric displays, how to wash them, and will they be able to withstand weather conditions.

Question:  How do you clean dye sublimation fabric graphics?

Most dye sublimation fabrics are made with polyester fabrics, and with the dye sub printing process, the color becomes embedded in the fabric, so fading is not a problem unless it is done too often.

Manual and Automatic Washing

If your graphics are not too big to fit in your washing machine, it is no problem at all to wash them there.
