Calculating the size of your Write On Aluminum Tag or Emboss Marker
Length x Width = Number of Square Inches. For example, if you have a decal that is 3” x 5” simply multiply 3 x 5 = 15 square inches.
Write-on Embossable Aluminum Tags, Decals, or Labels
These are lightweight and easy to use. The aluminum material is traditionally a low cost material to work with and easy to imprint or write upon. For this reason, the labels are the traditional first choice in keeping things under control.
Aluminum Tag Material
Aluminum tags can look like coins – or be squared off. Their edges may be smooth, or filed in a horizontal way, like a quarter is. The thickness may also vary – from .001“ to .050“ in width.
They can be regular or anodized if too much shine is not desired. They can be stamped upon or written on, depending on the type of business you’re in and the needs you must fulfill.
Bar code tags may also be made of aluminum, affixed directly to the item you are controlling. They may be lightweight, but they are sturdy and last a long, long time. The advantage of using this metal is that it’s a much less expensive than stainless steel or brass.
They are also made with thin metal which may have a hole punched on one side or end that can either be embossed or written on, although most often these types are embossed with an engraving machine or the like.
Shapes and Categories
Aluminum tags can be most usually rectangular with square or radius corners, but may also be die cut oval shaped or any other shape your company may choose. They are produced in a plain silver color, since they don’t need to be fancy. They do the job with no fanfare, and in this case, less is more. They also can be printed in many different colors.
They can be separated into distinct categories. Typically, there are adhesive labels that can are printed and either have an ink receptive surface for writing on with a pen or are embossable using a ball point pen.
Durability of Aluminum Tags

Being metal, they are sturdy enough to withstand the wear and tear of a manufacturing environment. There may be strange vapors, forklifts and heavy machinery.
